Jeanne Peters, LMT, CA, BS

Having earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Physical Education and Health from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA, it qualified me for a number of jobs.  I taught Outdoor Education, coached a girls JV basketball team, worked at summer camps (one in Maine, the other on Martha’s Vineyard), taught land and water aerobics at various Health Clubs, made sails and custom canvas for boats along the Eastern coast, and juggled boxes of film on roller skates in St.Thomas, U.S.V.I., for a one-hour photo shop.
Wanting to get back to my education, I decided to go back to school for Massage Therapy.  I graduated from the Florida School of Massage, in Gainesville, Florida, in 1995.  I attended the day program to receive my Certification in Massage and Hydrotherapy, and the advanced program at night, (200 hours) to become Certified in Sports Massage Training.
I started working in a chiropractor’s office fully prepared to handle the many injured clients that came to see me.  I soon moved out to start a private practice specializing in muscle injuries, whiplash, scar tissue, and lower back injuries.
In 2001, I earned my Certification in Aromatherapy, a 200-hour program from the Finger Lakes School of Massage, now known as Aromahead Institute.  I use Essential Oils and my own blends, as I see needed, in massage.  I can also make custom blends for clients for their special needs.
I have taught Deep Tissue and Sports Massage at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage, in Rochester, New York.  I have also been a guest lecturer at Rochester Institute of Technology, Monroe Community College, The Greater Rochester Massage Therapy Association, and the Chatterbox Club, all in Rochester, NY.
I have also had the amazing opportunity to travel through our great country.  After college, a friend and I drove the perimeter of the United States, taking three months and driving 14,000 miles. I now have been in 42 states, and have worked in six of them. Needing another adventure, in 2015 I flew to France to start the Camino de Santiago. It is a 1200-year old pilgrimage that starts in France. I hiked up and over the Pyrenees mountains backpacking 500 miles across northern Spain, and meeting people from all over the planet.
